Last Saturday we drove over to Wahiawa to visit the Dole Plantation. The maze is listed as the Guinness World's Largest Maze in 2008, and is over 3 acres. You look for eight hidden stations and trace a stencil on a card to keep track... find them all in less than 10 minutes & win a prize.
Most of the maze was created from hibiscus bushes, which are over 7 feet tall.
Because we are cheaters, we snuck through a few "holes" in the walls...
some of us were more graceful than others.
and some of us looked pathetic on purpose
Another reason we snuck through was because we are rudely competitive... another family kept following our trail and we didn't want to make it easy for them. Glad I got that off my chest...
The koi pond was disturbing. The older fish had chunks missing from their backs, and there were way too many fish and not enough fish food. I took this shot without looking because I was so grossed out. Ugh
Here's a bad batch of pineapples...
Carley and her first ukulele lesson
and her new best friend on the farm.
I think the missing front teeth are a nice touch.
Back to the main area for some dole whips. They shove a pineapple core in the side so your ice cream doesn't melt and fall over... those clever pineapple people.
I never did find out what the pineapples were demonstrating about...
Playing tourist...
Ariel looks like The Pineapple Hulk, while I of course am adorable.
Carley even got to pose with a family of pandas!
Long day for the little Coco.
