Summer Cut? ... or Bad Hair Day?

Alright... here's Cookie last year after her summer trim. She still has plenty of hair and still looks like a Golden Retriever

I love the shaped trim that leaves pretty golden-red waves, and she still has a lot of hair.

Cut to this summer. I took her back to the same groomer, and said she needed a summer cut again. The lady took that to mean a full body shave. How embarrassing for the little girl... she is now a lab instead of a retriever!
When Carson picked her up, he texted to tell me that we were sick to be so mean to the pup. She curled up in her kennel and was shunned by the cats the rest of the day.
You could even see her pink skin over her shoulder blades... sad, sad, sad.

You can tell by Cookie's face that it was all very confusing. At least she won't need another cut for a looonnnggg time.

Graduation

Here comes Carson, who hates having his picture taken... Caleb McKague posed better than the boy

At least Carson got to sit by people he knew... Jordan Meyer, Scott Meyers, and Marcus Mitchell

Another big smile from Carson... I've noticed that when I just want the picture taking to be over, I smile the same way so that people don't get mad at me

Carson took off his cap and gown as soon as graduation was over... it makes him look like he's congratulating Tanner Orton instead of graduating with him. The NHS cord around his neck doesn't really look too official

Here's Carson, Eyler, Tanners Lanman and Orton posing with seniors-to-be Seth Madsen & Brandon Hively

One more pic with TO, only this time we added in Andrew Humphreys. I told him to smile and remember all of the football showers with Carson over the years...

I think by this time, Carson and Mikki are just looking forward to eating at Dennys. Graduation began at 9am, so even though it only lasted an hour and a half, everyone's blood sugar was dropping

2011 Senior Banquet

Lots and lots of food...
Pulled pork sandwiches,
Twice baked potatoes,
Bbq chicken wings,
Salad, veggies, and fruit,
Cream puffs, brownies, and...
A chocolate fountain for dipping strawberries!

Carson, Tanner Orton, and Tanner Lanman were lucky enough to line up before Eyler, but it looks like he's close behind...

Bridget, Justin, and Sidney are busy posing...

The boys look impatient

After dinner beads?

Okay, maybe just a little more food

Carson and Mariah Sain were voted "Most Athletic"

Baseball is a Dangerous Sport

Double header against Ontario Saturday, April 30. The La Grande Tigers won both... 7-6 and 12-11. Carson pitched a good first game with 16 strikeouts. He threw 141 pitches, but that didn't get to him as much as playing shortstop in the second game. A crazy bounce made the ball go right off his face :(

The La Grande team almost looked like they were going 10 run the Ontario Tigers until the 4th inning, when suddenly we couldn't score & they began to creep up on us, tying the game at 11 all in the 6th inning. (Yikes) Seventh inning, still tied. Then finally in the 8th inning, Erik gets on base, Logan gets hit with a pitch, and Carson hits one over the first baseman's head to win the game. It was the same kind of hit Carley made to win her softball playoff game.

The next day, Carson's eye was swollen shut. Swelling on the side had gone down, but his actual eye was shut with a pretty purple, blue, and red hue. He made this pic his Facebook profile picture! As good as Carley's shiner on her driver's license.
Chase tried to snap his ankle playing legion ball, so I guess all my children have survived the most dangerous game... at least in high school.
