A Typical Morning at Turtle Bay

First off the bat, I have probably the hardest decision of the day... will I walk on the paved or unpaved road?

My other tough decisions revolve around what snacks I will eat :)

I like to cut through the "forest" bordering the golf course, then stroll along the sandy stretch that leads to the point.

There's rarely anyone out here, except for a few fishermen... although on the first Monday of Spring Break I counted 3 families... crazy, crowded Spring Break!

I like the rocky, scrub brush coastline! Some people say that the North Shore isn't pretty, but I love how it's wild, untouched, and isolated...
I guess if more folks thought it was as great as Honolulu, it would ruin the whole experience.

I pack sunscreen, mp3 player, cell phone, a camera, and an apple...

that way I can sit & watch the waves, listen to a book on tape, and snap a picture or two.

I am constantly improving my "self-portraits", and walking back home as soon as my apple is gone helps me limit my sun time (yes, I know I am weird)

On the way back through the trees, I always remember to text Big A whenever I see a mongoose... nothing like reminding him that I am in Hawaii while he is stuck in snowy, gloomy Oregon :P

Then back to my little shack in Kahuku...
