Caledonian Games

To Athena, to be led like sweaty sheep!

The sheepdog trials were entertaining...

The clansmen displaying their kilts were slightly disturbing...

maybe it's the backwards caps, maybe it's the tennies and athletic socks...

But it was fun watching them chuck a 56 pound weight for distance (one guy passed 22 feet)

I tried to talk Carley into the sheaf toss...

but the other girls scared her

This guy was just fun to watch, though I think the girl in red finally beat him

After seeing this, Carley said, "This is why I love Eastern Oregon!"

Backyard Project 2

Cement & Decking

Ahh... the end of a busy three-day weekend.  The sun shines, the animals leave the wet cement alone (pretty much)

But let's begin at the beginning...

Carson invited a few friends over for a play-date.  Don't worry, we paid them.

How many heads does it take to move lumber?

The hot tub cement is poured first...

Then, what the heck... let's finally get the tack room poured while we're at it

Cookie decided the power tools are too dangerous, especially without opposable thumbs

She was very intrigued by Tom Sawyer painting the deck, tho... too bad I had to take photos & couldn't help

July Gratitude Haiku

bright, sunny summer
I wished you lingered year round
life is more fun warm
